EPIPHANAEA

( Appearing, Brightness, Shining forth)

This Greek word is used in the Scripture as the Words Appearing, Brightness, and Shining forth. The word means to come into view, to become visible or to show. It infers a coming before the public, and in the case of law, it has to do with a presenting oneself formally before a court as defendant, plaintiff or as counsel. When it is used  as to mean,  to shine forth, it refers to an    emanation of light. It also is used when referring to one who distinguishes their self  in order to clearly make apparent their nature. When it is used as brightness, it implies an illumination that causes the object to stand out in comparison all others.

[The End Time Evangelism] 6-3-62  "Now, we have already seen and are witnessing the appearing of the Lord. Now, remember, appearing and coming are two different words, to appear and then to come. Now is the appearing, He's already appeared in these last days. Right here with us in the last few years. Now, it's a sign of His coming. He's appearing in His church, in the form of the Holy Spirit, showing that it's Him, 'cause people cannot do these things that you see the Holy Spirit doing, so that's the appearing of the lord. Now remember, it spoke both places, "appearing" and "coming".

[Be Not Afraid, it is I ] 4-14-61 tape 1 side 1  "We pray that will take place among us tonight as we will see the Lord God Jehovah to which we are all worshippers of. May He come forth in His great power, and will shine forth His Glory into every gloomy heart. Bring forth faith, Life. We pray that every church that's represented here may go from here tonight with a fresh vision and a revival spirit break out in this country, and in the schools,  that there will be prayer day and night, and hungering and thirsting. May the salt that seasons our life, come tonight and make us so thirsty to be like Him. We commit this service unto Him now, The Author Who said, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. May He come shining forth in His Word. And then afterwards shine forth in the people. And we will praise Him for it with humble hearts."

[Jehovah Jireh]  Part II 7-6-62  This is the close of the Royal Seed's waiting. He's here, the appearing of Christ. Did you ever try to divide... There's a place in the Bible, you know, I ain't got time to go into it, says "the appearing of Christ," and then "the coming of Christ." That's two different things, altogether, the "appearing" and the "coming." He's appearing now, working with us in the form of the Holy Spirit, making it just perfect, the Church, It has to. I would like to add here that this is where so many have messed up in understanding the parousia of Christ. Some said it was the second coming, but it is not the second coming, it is the appearing. He appears first in the form of the Holy Spirit, and then this appearing gets us ready for the coming.

[ II THES 2:8]  And Then shall the wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His Mouth, and shall destroy with the epiphanaea of His parousia.  It is apparent here that the manner in which the Lord discloses His great presence will affect and destroy the workings of  Satan. Remember, at His first coming Jesus defeated Satan with His Word. And if Alpha becomes Omega, He must do so again the same way.

[I Timothy 6:14] That Thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the epiphanaea of our Lord Jesus Christ: The scripture speaks of a time that Christ will appear in a special way.

[We Would See Jesus] pp. 170 7-4-62  In the evening time it shall be light. What is it? The same sun that rises in the east, sets in the west. And the same Son of God that manifested and appeared in the east, is appearing in the west now at the evening time, evening light to the church that's called out and filled with the Holy Spirit.

[The Trial] pp. 76  4-19-64  And He appeared to Abraham in the form of the Son of Man, Elohim, Jehovah. The church now has served the term through the church age in the baptism of the Holy Ghost. But Jesus said, here, to make Malachi 4 and the rest of these scriptures real to you, see, that "in the last days, just before the coming, the world will be like the Sodom, and the Son of Man will reveal Hisself as the Son of Man like He did in the days of Sodom."

[The Trial] 4-12-64  Our heavenly Father, the strain of this moment...We're wondering Lord, just how many really believe. The seed has been sown, the Word has been read. Christ, the Holy Ghost, has appeared before us and showed that Life that was in this Light... And He was the light of the world. He's the Light now. He's the great Eternal Light, and He has appeared before us this afternoon and done just what He said He would do in this generation. The Word's been thoroughly spoken, the Word's been identified, and the people now, if they just thoroughly believe it with all their heart...  In [ John 1: 1 - 4, 3: 19 - 21 & 1 John 1: 1 - 3, 7 ] We see John declaring the same Light and the Life that was in this same light.

[When Their Eyes Were Opened]  4-16-64  Still, you know today, after Jesus has raised from the dead, has appeared to the people in the last days...

[Souls in Prison] pg. 21 pp. 4  11-10-63  Notice. The same spiritual sign Jesus done has reoccurred on the earth in the last days...the very same spiritual sign that He identified Himself as Messiah, has identified Him today! He's still Messiah! The same material sign has appeared on the earth that appeared about what He was...the same Pillar of Fire that St. Paul saw, the same One. And all that has reoccurred with the same nature in it, doing the same thing.  It is interesting to note how brother Branham ties the Light shining forth together with the very nature of God. Now, the shining forth or appearing in itself is not the nature being displayed. However, the display of His nature comes as he unveils Himself, and this unveiling makes us aware of His nature. This is the Phaneroo of God when He reveals Himself in His True Nature. But just as when a man fishes, he uses a lure and bait and a hook, so too God uses the Epiphanaea to shine forth and catch our attention. That is the miracles and healing etc. That are considered the lure to bait us, then when he discloses Himself to us in His True Character, we begin the process of our change.

[Perfect Faith] pp. 154  8-25-63  He has appeared to us in the same form that He did to them in the old testament; and has showed by the same Word, the same Christ. And I declare to you That Christ is the Holy Ghost.

[The Greatest News Flash in History]  4-24-61  And then He appeared to His Elected church only. The rest of them did not recognize Him. And if He was here today, He would just do the same as He did then; appear to the Elected believer. He never appears to the unbeliever......That's the same way He would do today. If He should come today, and which He has, in Spirit form. And you notice that He only shows Himself  like we left off last night in Abraham. He never went down unto Lot's group. But He appeared to the Elected group. Turned His back tot he tent and said, "Where is thy wife Sarah?"

[Deceived Church by the World] pp. 83  6-28-59   But as Israel was bound by their kings, that they could not follow the real King; and the real King, when He came, they didn't recognize Him. So is it today, Oh Lord, The king of Glory has appeared in the form of the Holy Ghost, and , Lord, they don't know it. They don't recognize it. They're so organized so tight, that they do not understand it, because it's not in their organization. Lord, this is the work of the Devil that's done this to the people.

[Where is He King of the Jews]  pp. 99 12-21-58  Yet in all of our theology and our great churches, and so forth today, when the great light of God has begin to shine, the church knows nothing about it.

[ Hebrews Chapters ] 5 & 5 PT. 1 pp. 170 9-8-57 Friends, let us go on to perfection. We're with out excuse today. We have no excuse at all. The God of heaven has appeared in these last days and is doing the very same things that He did then, when He was here before, when He was on earth. He's proved. As we are coming through this Bible, and you class, know this; that we have taken miracle by miracle and sign by sign and wonder by wonder that He did  with the children in the wilderness, the things and signs that He did. The things that He done when He was here on earth, manifest in the flesh, and the very same things are taking place today, right here among us. Here's the Word to Vindicate it. Here's the thing to say It's right, to make it right. Here's the Spirit of God to do the same thing, so we're without excuse.

[Hebrews] pp. 235 Chapters 4   9-01-57  God come down and He showed them a Pillar of Fire; by His prophets, signs and wonders, He was with them. They didn't believe It. Oh, they liked to see the miracles. They liked to hear the prophet. But as far as believing It, they didn't. their lives proves they didn't. [236] Now, He said, "Don't you fall after that same example of unbelief!" For if the last day, to the Gentile church, God has appeared again: Same sign, same wonder, same Pillar of Fire, vindicated, proven. Let us not harden our hearts and fall in that temptation back yonder of unbelief, for we'll rot on earth and that'll be the end of it. [237] And when the Holy Spirit knocks at your heart, "After so long a time when you hear My Voice, harden not your heart;" say, "Child of mine, this is the truth." Don't look at the messenger, listen to the Message. Believe it.  Now, this leads us to [2 Tim 1: 9 - 10] Because we are told that we are called by a Holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His Purpose and grace. The very same purpose and grace spoken of in Ephesians chapter 1 which was in Him before the world was framed. And we find in verse 10 that this became manifested by the epiphanaea of Christ.

[ II TIM 1: 10] But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who hath abolished death, and hath brought Life and Immortality to light through the Gospel. What is made manifest? The Purpose and grace of God who called us by a holy calling. This epiphanaea speaks of the appearing in flesh at His first coming. But remember, alpha has become omega. What He did in the first age must repeat in the last. Now notice what this epiphanaea does, It abolishes death and brings life to light. That is exactly what Light does. It brings forth the seed into it's predetermined condition.

[Invisible Union of the Bride]  pg. 11 pp. 3 11-25-. Now, He has appeared as God the Holy Ghost, the same God all the time.

[Thinking Man's Filter]  pp. 34  8-22-65   And when the Angels of the Lord appeared out there for the seven seals, and it went up into the air (which we had the picture of It here and around over the country), there He was standing there still wigged with the Supreme Authority. He is the Head of the church. He's head of the body. There's nothing like Him anywhere.

[ II TIM 4: 1] I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the quick and the dead at His epiphanaea and His kingdom. This scripture let's you know that His appearing will bring forth Judgment and a setting in order for His coming kingdom. Read [John 12:48 which is also James 5: 7 - 9 and Revelations 3: 20]. We find His word is Judge in the last day the white wigged cloud of [Rev 1:7, Rev 10:1, I Thes 1:7, 10-11] is a manifestation to all that this is true, that He is here as Judge.

[ II TIM 4: 8] Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me on that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that Love His epiphanaea.  Now how could you love His coming if it is all to happen in the twinkling of an eye. This scripture shows a period of time will take place during this appearing and you must love it. In [II Thes 2:10-11] those who did not love the Truth were given a strong delusion. It is during the time of the Presence of Christ that the false anointed bring forth their lying wonders. But unto those that love His appearing, He shall give us a crown of Right - wise - ness or correct understanding. A Strong delusion given to those who do not love His appearing, is a wrong understanding, or un - right - wise - ness. [Note] The word righteousness according to Scofield comes from an old English word, right - wise - ness which is having a correct understanding of the Word of God. After all, to have a wrong understanding of what He said would make Him to be a liar or at least in your eyes He is.

[Titus 2: 13]  Looking for that blessed Hope, and Glorious epiphanaea of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. This  ties in closely to [I Tim 4: 8]. Not only should we look for it, but Jesus said we should not be taken off guard when it comes. He said if the man prepared for the thief then there would not be an unexpected entry.

[Titus 2: 11]  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.  And if the God brings salvation through a special dispensation of Grace and we fail to see it, we shall miss the salvation or deliverance that results from this grace.  We find this also spoken of in  [ 1 Peter 1: 5 - 13].  In verse 5 we see that this faith or revelation brings a salvation or deliverance. It is said to be at the last time. In verse 7 we see that it is at the time of the apokalupsis of Christ.  In verse 9 he says, this salvation or deliverance  is the end of our faith, which means it is the outcome or the very goal of our faith [which is a revelation according to brother Branham].

[Titus 3: 4]    But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared. Here we are told that the very fact that God sent Jesus to epiphanaea, that this act of manifested Life opened up a way for us to be redeemed from our corruptible nature. I hope you see how important the epiphanaea of Christ is to us.

[Luke 1: 79]  To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.  This is spoken in prophecy concerning John the Baptist. Notice what the Light does. It is to give knowledge of salvation, to bring  us out from the shadow of death into Light and Life. And remember, brother Branham said in, [Man that can Turn on the Light] pp. 96 "Life can only come by Light" and just before this he said, pp. 95 "There's nothing can give you Life but the spoken Word of God."

[Acts 27: 20 ]  And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.  Even though this scripture does not refer to the actual appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, yet the word epiphanaea is used here to show that all hope is gone without the "Light",  whether it be of the natural type or the Spiritual.
